IGT confirms double deal with Mississippi Lottery

News

International Game Technology (IGT) has secured two long-term technology and services deals with the Mississippi Lottery Corporation.

The first contract will cover the provision of a draw-based central system, lottery terminals and additional services, while the second will focus on the production of instant tickets, secure warehousing and the distribution of games.

Both agreements, which will run for a period of seven years, were brokered by the supplier’s IGT Global Solutions Corporation subsidiary. The lottery expects to sell the first ticket no later than 1 December this year.

“We are thrilled to have IGT on board with the Mississippi Lottery Corporation,” Mississippi Lottery president Tom Shaheen said. “We look forward to partnering with them in our effort as we pursue our mission of raising funds for roads and bridges throughout Mississippi.”

Under the first of the contracts, the Lottery will receive IGT’s Aurora Platform and Retailer Pro draw-based lottery terminal, as well as the IGT Retail Digital Media advertising display solution to help stimulate brand awareness.

The Lottery will leverage IGT’s self-service point-of-sale devices including a combination of the GameTouch 28 vending machine for players to purchase instant tickets and the GameTouch 20.

Meanwhile, as part of the instant ticket contract, IGT will implement its complete Instant Advantage instant game supply chain solution, as well as provide secure warehousing and distribution of instant tickets to lottery retailers.

In addition, IGT will deliver marketing support, field services, primary and back up data centers, call center operations, software support, and retailer training.

Jay Gendron, chief operating officer for lottery at IGT, said: “IGT is committed to supporting the Lottery’s short and long-term growth objectives by providing customized, high-performing back-office systems, tools that foster retailer and player engagement, strategic instant ticket development and production, and technology, games, and marketing support that establishes the Lottery as a reputable brand.”

The double agreement comes after IGT last month also secured an extension to its deal with the Minnesota State Lottery. The agreement covers the installation of GameTouch 20 self-service lottery vending machine, as well as the provision lottery central systems, instant ticket processing system, data center operations, call center, field services, retailer training and marketing services.
