DraftKings launches online casino in Pennsylvania

News

Real money gaming and fantasy sports operator DraftKings has announced the launch of its new online casino product in the state of Pennsylvania.

Launched in partnership with Hollywood Casino, an affiliate of Penn National Gaming, the product is accessible via the DraftKings sportsbook mobile app.

Consumers in the state can access virtual table games including blackjack, roulette and three card poker, as well as slot games, via the online casino.

In addition, the new product will feature a range of table themed felts based on certain sports and holiday seasons.

DraftKings already has a presence in the Pennsylvania sports betting market, though that partnership is with another Penn National property, Meadows Racetrack and Casino.

In March, online casino revenue in the state amounted to $24.3m, up 24.5% from $19.5m in February. Online slots were the primary source of income, generating $12.4m in revenue, with table games revenue totalling $8.8m and poker $3.1m.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia headed the Pennsylvania igaming market in March with $6.8m in revenue, ahead of the Mount Airy Casino Resort on $6.0m and Valley Forge Casino Resort with $5.0m.

Overall gambling revenue for the month – comprising land-based table games and slots, online casino, sports betting, fantasy sports and video gaming terminals – amounted to $153.5m, down 51.5% from $316.3m in March 2019 and 49.6% lower than $304.3m in February this year.

Sports betting accounted for $6.9m of the total, of which DraftKings contributed $1.5m.
