BetMGM has announced the appointment of Rhea Loney, formerly of Penn Interactive, as its new chief compliance officer.

In her new role, Loney will join the BetMGM executive team and oversee the operator’s compliance department including online and retail operational compliance, registration and licensing, anti-money laundering and financial compliance, and responsible gaming.

Loney joins BetMGM after three years with Penn Interactive, where she was recently served as vice president of compliance and regulatory affairs, following a spell as its director of compliance.

Before this, Loney was assistant attorney general for the Louisiana State Racing Commission for eight-and-a-half years.

“I’m thrilled to play a meaningful role in BetMGM’s continued commitment to excellence in compliance,” Loney said. “BetMGM is uniquely positioned in the market, and we will continue to be a leader and innovator in responsible gaming and compliance.”

BetMGM chief executive Adam Greenblatt added: “Rhea brings extensive industry knowledge and regulatory experience to BetMGM and is a phenomenal addition to our team as we continue to grow rapidly in a dynamic industry.”
