BetMGM makes Arizona retail debut with Vee Quiva sportsbook launch

News

Sports betting and igaming operator BetMGM has opened a new land-based sportsbook at the Vila Quiva casino property in Arizona, marking its entrance into the state’s retail sports betting market.

The BetMGM Sportsbook at the Gila River Casinos and Hotels-owned property features 25 large screen displays, a media wall and seating for more than 100 guests, as well as 20 betting kiosks and ticket writers present to assist guests with placing bets.

BetMGM already had a presence in Arizona, having launched an online sportsbook when the state launched its regulated market in September this year. BetMGM was one of a number of operators to go live with its platform on the opening day of the market.

Both the online and retail launches were made possible after BetMGM in August entered into partnerships with Gila River and the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.

Plans are also in place to open retail sportsbooks at Gila River’s Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte casinos in Arizona, as well as at State Farm Stadium, home of the Cardinals.

“It’s great to see our partnership with Gila River come to life in Arizona,” BetMGM chief executive Adam Greenblatt said. “The BetMGM Sportsbook at Vee Quiva will be a true destination for sports fans and we look forward to opening additional venues at Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte.

“These retail sportsbooks complement our existing mobile platform in Arizona and further cement our goal of providing BetMGM customers with a world-class experience.”

Gila River chief executive Kenneth Manuel added: “The new sportsbooks align perfectly with Gila River’s sports-centric brand. As Arizona’s official sports headquarters, we take pride in bringing unique sports experiences to our valued guests.”
