British Columbia Lottery Corporation joins ULIS

News

United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), the organization formerly known as the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), has announced the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) as its latest member.

As part of the ULIS membership network, BCLC will support the group and its work with sport’s governing bodies, law enforcement agencies, public authorities and other stakeholders to combat sports competitions manipulations around the world.

BCLC becomes the third Canadian provincial lottery organization to join ULIS, alongside Loto Québec and Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

“ULIS is delighted to welcome BCLC as a member,” ULIS president Ludovico Calvi said. “BCLC’s commitment to ESG, responsible gambling and community outreach aligns with our values, and we look forward to working with BCLC to promote a culture of integrity in sports.”

The new comes after ULIS this week also added the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority to its membership network.

ULIS rebranded from GLMS in October last year after members unanimously approved the name change. A survey revealed members that thought GLMS was no longer an accurate representation of the organisation, as it refers strongly to monitoring services only.

The name change reflected several other developments including a new strategy and focus on the services the organisation offers beyond the initial monitoring.
