Churchill Downs launches TwinSpires betting product in Tennessee

News

Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) today announced the launch of its TwinSpires Sports mobile app in the state of Tennessee.

The app and desktop product will offer a wider betting platform for players in Tennessee, allowing them to place bets on major professional and collegiate sports worldwide in addition to horse racing.

CDI president and COO Bill Mudd said: “We are excited to launch our state-of-the-art TwinSpires sports betting mobile app in Tennessee just in time for March Madness.

“Tennessee sports enthusiasts will be eligible for our best-ever player sign-up bonus, as well as continued market-leading promotions, all within our industry-leading sports mobile app and desktop product.”

The Tennessee market forms the latest part of CDI’s expansion, after opening online and retail sportsbooks in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – all of which will transition to the TwinSpires brand during the first half of 2021.

The TwinSpires sportsbook product was formerly known as BetAmerica, but Churchill Downs Incorporated rebranded it to bring it under the same name as its online pari-mutuel  offering.

Last week, the Tennessee Education Lottery announced that sports betting handle in the state reached $211.3m in January, while revenue came to $21.8m.
