DraftKings and Stats Perform extend data deal

News

DraftKings has extended its partnership with data provider Stats Perform for its daily fantasy sports and live fantasy products.

Under the deal, which started in 2012, DraftKings will use Stats Perform’s live data feeds for major US leagues including the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League, as well as college football, men’s college basketball and “most top soccer leagues”.

Stats Perform said this wide range of competitions offered would allow DraftKings to expand its daily fantasy sports contests into more sports and leagues.

“DraftKings has become a premier destination for skin-in-the-game sports fans,” DraftKings chief business officer Ezra Kucharz said. “Our growing list of DFS games are extremely popular and require fast and accurate data for fans who are following along to games in real-time.

“Through our longstanding partnership with Stats Perform, we have developed an important layer of trust between our customers and the sports data they interact with. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Stats Perform as we expand our offerings in the U.S and abroad.”

Stats Perform chief revenue officer Steve Xeller said DraftKings has been a major innovator in the use of sports analytics in its games and that he hoped to see this continue.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with DraftKings to create a fun and exciting DFS experience for sports fans worldwide,” Xeller said. “Using Stats Perform data, DraftKings has sparked innovation and dramatic growth within the fields of predictive sports analytics and digital entertainment.

“As interest in DFS continues to grow, we look forward to our continued work with DraftKings to power a new wave of AI-powered sports statistics that drive new insights and opportunities for the DFS experience.”

Last week, Stats Perform agreed an exclusive official rights deal with Football DataCo to collect and distribute event data for all major English and Scottish football leagues.

The agreement, which includes the English Premier League, will permit Stats Perform to deliver detailed data to media, fantasy, broadcast and professional teams around the world.
