FanDuel lands gaming deal with Major League Baseball

News

Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel has struck a deal to become an authorised gaming partner of North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB).

Through the multi-year agreement, FanDuel will gain access to official MLB data, as well as team branding and logos, for use across its online sports betting sites and at retail sportsbook locations.

The deal marks the sports betting and daily fantasy sports operator’s first official partnership with either the MLB or its franchises.

“Fantasy sports and sports betting have become a national pastime in their own right, so it’s natural to join forces with MLB,” FanDuel president and chief operating officer, Kip Levin, said. “MLB clearly understands how working together can be beneficial for baseball fans and both companies alike.”

Kenny Gersh, executive vice president, gaming and new business ventures at MLB, added: “Baseball is one of the most popular sports to bet on and partnering with MLB allows us to make the betting experience even better for our customers. With an enhanced betting experience, sports fans are watching more baseball as they have a stake in the game.

“Now having access to our official sports betting data feeds and MLB brands, we’re looking forward to the creative sports betting and fan experience innovations FanDuel will develop.”

Fanduel becomes the third authorised gaming partner of MLB, following in the footsteps of DraftKings and MGM Resorts World.

MLB has signed a series of related deals since the Supreme Court ruled on PASPA last year, including data-focused partnerships with both Sportradar and Perform Group.
