FanDuel scores exclusive fantasy sports deal with Pittsburgh Steelers

Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel has agreed an exclusive deal to become the official daily fantasy sports partner of Pennsylvania-based NFL franchise the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Under the fully integrated marketing agreement, FanDuel will benefit from a prominent branding presence inside the team’s Heinz Field home stadium.

FanDuel will also gain access to a range of marketing assets such as LED and scoreboard video signage, as well as radio, television and digital advertising.

In addition, the operator will work with the Steelers to offer unique for customers, including access to a fantasy camp event at Heinz Field.

“We’re excited to bring FanDuel into the fold as our official daily fantasy partner; we think Steelers fans will enjoy the FanDuel platform and the opportunity to compete for unique Steelers prizes,” Steelers’ vice president of sales and marketing, Ryan Huzjak, said.

FanDuel is active in Pennsylvania’s regulated sports betting and daily fantasy sports markets. In September, the FanDuel-powered sportsbook at Valley Forge generated $7.1m in online sports betting revenue, the highest monthly total of all licensees.

In addition, FanDuel collected $1.4m in fantasy sports revenue for September, just behind rival DraftKings on $1.6m.

“We truly admire the historical franchise the Steelers have built, and Pittsburgh is an incredible sports town,” FanDuel chief executive Matt King said.

“Our Pennsylvania customers love their teams and their players, and by partnering with the Steelers, we’ll further deliver on our promise to further engage fans and meaningfully grow our brand.”
