Foxwoods and DraftKings launch online betting and igaming in Conencticut

News

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation-operated Foxwoods Resort Casino and DraftKings have officially launched online sports betting an casino in Connecticut.

This comes after a successful soft launch of igaming and sports betting in the state which has been ongoing since last week.

Going live at 6am this morning (19 October), the first bet placed was $25 on the Los Angeles Dodgers at -180 to beat the Atlanta Braves in tonight’s National League Championship game.

The co-branded Foxwoods and DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino app is now available to players aged 21 and over.

After the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe’s gaming compact was finalized back in March, sports betting was officially signed into Connecticut law in May.

A similar compact was signed with the Mohegan tribe, which set a 20% tax rate for online gaming, and a 13.75% rate for sports wagering.

Under the state’s agreement with each of the tribes, sports betting in Connecticut may be offered only through the state’s two tribal operators, Mohegan and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, as well as the state lottery. Only the two tribes may offer online casino.

Connecticut Lottery has partnered with Rush Street Interactive for its betting skin, and subsequently launched its PlaySugarHouse sportsbook in the state today.
