FSB expands senior team ahead in preparation for US launch

News

Sportsbook technology supplier FSB has made two appointments to its senior management team as it prepares to compete in the US wagering market.

Larry Pelzer has joined the supplier as vice president of sales for North America, while Mike Van Ermen has taken on the role of vice president of pre-sales.

Pelzer has worked in sales for more than 17 years and joins from real-money mobile gaming platform start-up Playport Gaming, having also spent two years with Scientific Games.

Based in the US, Pelzer will be responsible for driving brand awareness and introducing the provider’s full range of retail and online betting products and services to operators in North America.

Van Ermen, who was previously strategic operations manager at Circa Sports, will take charge of identifying potential partners for FSB.

“I am delighted to welcome Larry and Mike to the team and for them to play a central role in our plans to enter the North American market; this is a big year for FSB and our in-house talent continues to get stronger,” FSB chief executive Dave McDowell said.

The pair have been hired in the wake of FSB appointing ex-Kambi chief commercial officer Ian Freeman as chief revenue officer, and former Resorts Digital Gaming director Bob Akeret as vice president of operations for North America, as it builds out its team.

In September, FSB also signed an agreement with odds feed provider Sports IQ as part of its preparations for launching in the US.

The arrangement allows FSB’s current and future sports betting clients to benefit from Sports IQ’s pre-match and in-play markets, covering a broad range of US sports including the National Football League, National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.
