Fubo enters Pennsylvania market with Cordish Companies deal

Fubo Gaming, the betting subsidiary of streaming provider FuboTV, has completed a market access deal with The Cordish Companies, allowing the Fubo mobile sportsbook to launch in Pennsylvania.

Fubo TV already has a strong foothold on the Pennsylvanian market through its carriage agreements with regional sports networks including NBC sports Philadelphia and AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. Now, however, Fubo may launch its betting products in the state using licenses held by the Cordish Companies’ Live! brand of land-based casinos.

The sports-focused streaming provider entered the world of sports betting through its recent acquisition of sportsbook operator Vigtory. Following this acquisition, the provider introduced free-to-play predictive games, acting as an initial bridge between its streaming and sportsbook services, until it received a license.

Under this agreement, Fubo plans to bring together its live sports streaming with mobile betting so that users can place bets while watching matches.

The latest partnership in Pennsylvania with Cordish Companies will help the Fubo sportsbook to enter a  fourth state following market access agreements in New Jersey, Indiana, and Iowa. Fubo  has also secured access to Iowa, through a partnership with Casino Queen, a deal agreed by Vigtory before the merger.

“With our sportsbook, we’re looking forward to delivering a comprehensive sports entertainment experience that combines live streaming and wagering. We expect to launch Fubo Sportsbook in the fourth quarter of this year pending regulatory approvals,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV.

“Partnering with Fubo Gaming to bring our guests this exciting, integrated mobile sports betting option is the natural evolution of our Live! Casino brands in Pennsylvania,” said Rob Norton, president, Cordish Gaming Group.

“Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are both iconic sports cities that are deserving of best-in-class sports betting platforms, so we look forward to working with Fubo Gaming on this new endeavour.”

The launch of Fubo’s mobile sportsbook is dependent on it meeting the necessary regulatory requirements.
