Genius Sports unveils BetVision sports streaming solution

News

Genius Sports has announced the launch of BetVision, a new sports betting solution that allows players to place bets from within live video players on sportsbook apps.

Initially available via Caesars Sportsbook and Fanatics Sportsbook, BetVision will cover NFL games in the US in its opening weeks.

Low latency live game video streams will feature integrated betting odds and betslips. These will be accompanied by in-game betting alerts and on-screen offers during breaks in play.

Operators running BetVision will stream nationally distributed and local, regionalised live NFL games each week. Additional features and functionality will be added during the 2023 NFL season.

“BetVision is leading a new era of immersive sports experiences,” Genius Sports CEO Mark Locke said. “The launch brings together our capabilities across data tracking, video streaming, live data and sports wagering to create a game-changing product for sportsbooks.

“Sports fans and bettors alike increasingly demand personalised interaction, greater customisation and deeper insights combined with an ability to strike a bet seamlessly. BetVision alone offers precisely that, while giving sports betting operators a new way to drive engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.”

NFL vice president of business development and strategic investments, Brent Lawton, added: “We’re very pleased to be Genius’ first BetVision content partner as they continue to be on the cutting edge of sports betting experiences. BetVision allows us to create a differentiated way for fans to engage with NFL content.”

Genius Sports builds on NFL partnership

The launch further straightens the relationship between Genius Sports and the NFL. In July, Genius Sports signed a multi-year extension to its strategic partnership with the NFL.

The deal runs to the end of the 2027-28 season, with Genius keeping exclusivity over official NFL data and video distribution.

This includes play-by-play statistics, proprietary Next Gen Stats (NGS) data and official sports betting data. Genius will continue to distribute this to media companies and sports betting operators around the world.

Genius began working with the NFL in 2021 and now powers over 98% of the legal US sports betting market with official NFL data.

The deal also covers exclusive rights to distribute NFL Watch & Bet low latency live game video feeds to sportsbooks internationally.
