GNOG migrates New Jersey sportsbook to Scientific Games

News

Casino operator Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) has partnered with supplier Scientific Games to relaunch its mobile sportsbook in the state of New Jersey.

This migration, first planned in 2020, will see the OpenSports product suite become available to GNOG customers within the state – including access to an iOS mobile app that puts all GNOG products in one place.

This is the second such partnership between the two businesses, following the launch of GNOG’s sportsbook in Michigan last month. Scientific Gaming will be hoping this kind of deal will result in an upturn in revenue, following a 2020 decline.

“Scientific Games’ OpenSports platform has a well-deserved reputation for being robust and scalable and our initial experience in Michigan, amid a very busy sporting period, has been positive,” GNOG president Thomas Winter said.

“As we expand together across the US, we are delighted to enter the next phase of our partnership in New Jersey, where players will be able to enjoy an upgraded betting experience.”

Scientific Games senior vice president Cathryn Lai added: “Golden Nugget’s launch in New Jersey represents an exciting and important milestone in a partnership that we believe will flourish right across the U.S. moving forward. It serves as a testament to the power of OpenSports, which is ready to take the player offering in the Garden State to new heights.”

This wasn’t GNOG’s only partnership of the week, as the operator also became an official supporter of Conscious Gaming’s responsible gaming technology software PlayPause.

The multi-state software will be launched in New Jersey, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

PlayPause will allow players to self-exclude from betting as they move between states, further promoting responsible gaming habits.

Conscious Gaming trustee Anna Sainsbury said: “It’s wonderful to have Golden Nugget Online Gaming aboard with Conscious Gaming to rollout PlayPause.

“It is only by working together with all stakeholders that we will be able to ensure consumers have the necessary tools to foster responsible play, thus we appreciate the recognition and endorsement from GNOG to aid our efforts on behalf of the industry.”
