Golden Nugget partners DraftKings for Louisiana retail sportsbook

News

Golden Nugget has linked up with DraftKings to open a new retail sportsbook at its Casino Lake Charles Hotel and Casino in Louisiana.

Players aged 21 and over in the state will be able to place bets on professional, collegiate, and other sports contests at the DraftKings Sportsbook inside the Golden Nugget Casino Lake Charles.

Due to open on November 10, the temporary facility will feature six ticket cages, while a network of 30 self-service kiosks will be placed throughout the casino.

Plans are also in place to construct a permanent, 10,000-square-foot DraftKings Sportsbook and lounge with odds boards, televisions and nearly 300 seats, with the aim of opening in summer 2022.

“Our team has worked diligently alongside state legislators to make the sportsbook experience a reality for Louisiana patrons,” said Gerry Del Prete, senior vice president of gaming for Fertitta Entertainment, the parent company of Golden Nugget.

“Coupling the Golden Nugget’s dynamic gaming network with DraftKings innovative tech and trading, makes for an unmatched partnership.”

Subject to regulatory approval, DraftKings also intends to launch its DraftKings Sportsbook app in Louisiana, allowing players in the state to wager online and via mobile.

DraftKings is already active in the Louisiana daily fantasy sports market, having launched its offering in July this year.

“Since launching daily fantasy sports in Louisiana, we have been eager to introduce our fans here to the DraftKings Sportsbook experience, which will provide customers with a new level of engagement with several of America’s most popular leagues overlapping across the NFL, NBA, NHL, and NCAA football,” DraftKings’ co-founder and president for North America Matt Kalish said.

“Joining forces with Golden Nugget and their renowned casino brand, we look forward to providing the fervent fan base in the Bayou State with a premier retail sportsbook experience.”
