Greenwood Racing brings in Hausler as new CEO

News

US gambling facility operator Greenwood Racing has appointed Eric Hausler, previously of VICI Properties and Capri Casinos, as its new chief executive, effective from January 20.

Hausler will join Greenwood after a spell as director at VICI Properties, a real estate investment trust that owns various gaming, hospitality and entertainment properties including the Caesars Palace and Harrah’s sites in Las Vegas.

Prior to that, Hausler was chief executive of Isle of Capri Casinos, having also served as chief financial officer, chief strategic officer and senior vice president of strategic initiatives at the operator that is now part of Eldorado Resorts.

Hausler also spent time as senior vice president of development for Trump Entertainment Resorts, as well as in various capacities with investment bank Bear Stearns, Susquehanna Financial Group and Deutsche Bank Securities.

“His leadership experience in gaming and entertainment, real estate, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions will be invaluable to the achievement of the Company’s expansion and business objectives in the coming years,” Greenwood said in a statement.

The appointment comes after Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment last week announced that it will launch Evolution Gaming’s live dealer casino products across its Parx Casino-branded igaming sites in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Players will be able to choose from a host of online, streamed live dealer table games broadcasting from Evolution’s existing New Jersey studio, as well as a planned new studio facility in Pennsylvania.
