Inspired scores global licensing deal with NFL Alumni

News

Gaming technology provider Inspired Entertainment has entered an exclusive, global virtual sports licensing agreement with NFL Alumni (NFLA), the official organisation for former players and coaches of the NFL American football league.

Under the deal, brokered with VEEPIO, the mobile technology arm of the NFLA, Inspired will be able to use the name, brand, image, persona and likenesses of NFLA members in its virtual sports games

Inspired plans to use the players in its ‘Legends of Football’ virtual sports title, including the likes of Franco Harris and Phil Villipiano. The new content will be made available to Inspired customers and partners in regions around the world.

“We are always looking for new and different channels to expand our reach, assist our members, and help our local communities,” NFLA chief executive, Beasley Reese, said. “The Legends of Football suite of games helps position NFL alumni to grow their brands, embrace technology, and enhance their financial stability.”

Inspired president and chief operating officer, Brooks Pierce, added: “We have had great success since the introduction of our Virtual Football games but we expect this partnership to take it to the next level.

“VEEPIO allows us to produce the first-ever suite of entertainment products featuring the brands and images of the ‘Legends of Football’. Fans will love cheering on their favorite superstar players of all time, creating a more passionate and competitive experience.”

VEEPIO chief executive, Jonathan Ohliger, said he was confident that Inspired would put together “an exhilarating suite of games” that would help benefit NFLA member initiatives.
