Kindred launches Unibet sportsbook in Pennsylvania

News

Kindred Group-owned Unibet has rolled out its second sportsbook in the US, launching its brand in Pennsylvania.

Unibet went live in the state through a partnership with Mohegan Sun Pocono, marking its second launch in the US this month. The operator rolled out its first US-facing sportsbook with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City in New Jersey in early September.

The new Mohegan Sun Pocono sportsbook will initially only be running as a land-based service, with a sports betting and casino online offering to follow later this year.

Sports betting services provider Kambi will power the sportsbook, with punters able to wager on major sporting competitions such as the NFL American football league, NHL ice hockey tournament and NBA basketball league.

Confirmation of the launch comes after Kindred in January brokered a deal with tribal gaming operator, which runs the Mohegan Sun Pocono casino, to roll out sports betting services in Pennsylvania.

“We are excited and proud to partner with Mohegan Sun Pocono to welcome patrons to our new Sportsbook and offer a great extension to our online product in one of the largest states to regulate both online sports betting and casino,” Kindred US senior vice president, Manuel Stan, said.

“We wanted a strong partner who shares our dedication to customer experience and values, and we know that together we will offer Pennsylvanians a truly unmatched in-house and soon-to-come online sports betting and casino experience.”

Aviram Alroy, vice president of interactive gaming at Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, added: “We’ve aligned with one of the world’s best online casino and sportsbook operators in online regulated markets, which will allow us to offer a best in class experience to our current clients and attract new fans.

“Introduction of the Unibet offering to the market is a great positive for Mohegan Sun, as well as the State of Pennsylvania.”
