Merkur targets North America with Gaming Arts partnership

Germany-headquartered games developer Merkur has entered into a strategic agreement with Gaming Arts as part of wider plans to expand into the North American market.

Under the deal, Merkur and Las Vegas-based Gaming Arts will the jointly develop and supply games for North America casinos.

Merkur says the partnership will support its intention to become a direct supplier within the region. This, it says, will involve combining its own capabilities and reach with Gaming Arts’ gaming technology expertise.

The Merkur is one of several subsidiaries that operates as part of the Gauselmann Group. Merkur focused on developing and delivering casino games for customers in Germany and other markets around the world.

“We are excited about the immense potential that this cooperation with Gaming Arts brings to Merkur in our efforts to expand into North America,” Gauselmann board member Juergen Stuehmeyer said.

“Gaming Arts’ rapid growth and innovation in the gaming supplier space have created an outstanding platform for growth in this crucial global market. We look forward to having [Gaming Arts CEO] Mike Dreitzer lead this team in close cooperation with Merkur.”

Gaming Aets owner David Colvin added: “We believe this partnership is a pivotal moment in Gaming Arts’ journey. Merkur’s global reach and reputation for excellence align perfectly with our aspirations for growth and innovation.

“Together, we are poised to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to players in North America.”
