Michigan regulator launches new responsible gambling campaign

News

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has launched a new multi-media campaign to encourage responsible gambling among consumers in the US state.

Developed in partnership with King Media, ‘Don’t Regret the Bet’ will promote safer gambling with licensed operators in Michigan.

The campaign will include broadcast TV and radio advertising, point-of-sale video ads at gas stations, digital billboards, social media and digital media, including streaming services and podcast audio.

To support the advertising campaign, DontRegretTheBet.org, an educational website with information on safe gambling, will also launch, with the responsible gambling section of the MGCB’s site to feature a link to the new site.

“Starting in March, Michigan residents will hear and see new public service messages on local TV and radio stations and on popular social media platforms reminding them to enjoy gaming responsibly,” MGCB executive director Henry Williams said.

“March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to launch the MGCB’s educational campaign. The yearlong campaign is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to reach the public with information, tips and tactics promoting responsible gaming.”

King Media founder and president Coleen King added: “Don’t Regret the Bet is a campaign that will have a positive impact on individuals and communities across Michigan, and that aligns perfectly with our focus on meaningful work.”
