Mkodo rolls outs geolocation verification service in Canada

News

Mobile gaming app developer Mkodo has announced the launch of its geolocation verification service, GeoLocs, in Canada.

Built exclusively for the online gambling industry, GeoLocs can now be used by operators to ensure their apps and websites are in line with local regulations in Ontario and British Colombia.

The service uses the latitude and longitude of a device, as well as IP location, to verify a player’s physical position and determine whether they are able to access igaming.

GeoLocs can be implemented into operators’ web, iOS and Android platforms, with players not required to download additional companion apps.

Mkodo has been running GeoLocs active for more than 10 years, with operators using the service to verify players in a range of markets.

“Our GeoLocs solution is a mature and proven product, having been live and evolved over the last 10 years with some of our exclusive partners,” Mkodo co-founder and managing director Stuart Godfree said.

“We are thrilled to now be able to offer GeoLocs to a wider audience, at a time when a number of emerging markets, particularly in North America, require a solid, smooth and trustworthy geolocation solution to ensure full compliance.”
