Mohegan Gaming launches new social casino and loyalty app

News

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) has released Mohegan Sun Beyond, a new mobile app for patrons of its Connecticut-based flagship casino resort Mohegan Sun, developed in partnership with social games specialist iPro.

The app features free-to-play casino games and a sportsbook, with users able to earn dollars for the venue’s Momentum loyalty programme by playing games. These can be redeemed for future visits to Mohegan Sun-owned casinos and resorts.

Mohegan Sun will also be able to target users with customized promotions, based on factors such as their loyalty program level or physical proximity to one of its properties.

There is scope to further develop the app, such as delivering hotel and resort services such as online booking, mobile check-in, and even the ability to unlock hotel doors via a smartphone. It has also been built to incorporate real-money gaming functionality in future.

“At Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, we are focused on providing a customer experience unlike any other and we’re thrilled to bring this application to life so guests can enjoy our gaming offerings wherever they are in one connected experience,” MGE chief executive Mario Kontomerkos said.

“iPro has been a fantastic partner thus far, and we look forward to many years of success together as we continue to build out this platform, expand its capabilities, and create exciting product offerings.”

“This new platform is the most advanced, integrated casino resort online product and solution available on the market,” Robert Melendres, founder and CEO of iPro, said. “As one of the leading global integrated casino resorts, MGE is the perfect partner and we are excited to continue providing their guests with a best-in-class connected experience.”

Mohegan has made recent efforts to expand beyond the US, taking charge of The Fallsview Casino Resort, Casino Niagara and the soon-to-open Niagara Falls Entertainment Centre in Canada in June.

It partnered GEK Terna Group to pursue a casino license in Greece, while on 1 July, the company unveiled plans for an integrated resort in Japan.

In April, MGE selected Kambi Group plc as its sports betting partner for a new sportsbook in its Mohegan Sun Connecticut location, as well as partnering the supplier’s former parent Kindred Group for its Pennsylvania launch.
