Playtech approved to launch online casino in New Jersey

News

Gaming solutions giant Playtech has secured regulatory approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) to launch its online casino products in the state.

Playtech has been granted a transactional waiver to roll out its solutions with bet365 and Hard Rock Atlantic City. It now expects to launch with additional partners in the market in the near future.

Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer described the New Jersey approval was a “major milestone” for the business.

“We are delighted to have met the stringent regulatory requirements of the NJDGE and to be launching in New Jersey with our long-standing strategic partner bet365,” Weizer said. “The US is a highly strategic market for Playtech and we see significant demand for the full breadth of our product offering.”

Weizer added that Playtech intends to expand on the initial launch of its online casino solutions in New Jersey by also launching its sports, platform and live casino products both in the state and elsewhere in the US, subject to licensing procedures.

Playtech noted it has already begun licensing processes in other states.

“This is the first step for Playtech in the US and we are very excited about the long-term opportunity,” Weizer said.
