Playtech enters US retail sports betting market through Gold Rush Gaming partnership

News

Playtech has announced a new retail sports betting partnership with Gold Rush Gaming, which will allow Playtech to officially enter the US retail sports betting market.

As part of the deal, Playtech will supply its sports betting kiosk software and management systems to Gold Rush, which will be distributed across Ohio.

The rollout will initially cover 50 locations, and will be activated ahead of the Super Bowl LVII on 12 February.

Gold Rush Gaming’s Illinois affiliate, Gold Rush Amusements, is a terminal operator in the US video gaming market.

This is Playtech’s first entry into the US retail sports betting market, two years after it first established online gaming operations there.

“Through this partnership we will bring our extensive experience in retail sports betting to the US market for the first time,” said Jonathan Doubilet, US managing director and vice president of operations, Playtech. “We’re confident that Ohio is the ideal place to start, leveraging our expertise and strong track record to deliver self-service betting kiosks across the state.”

“We’re excited for this type of gaming to expand and look forward to introducing further products across the growing US market.”

Rick Heidner, owner and manager of Gold Rush, said the partnership would be a catalyst for more opportunities across the US.

“We are very pleased to partner with Playtech and leverage our joint expertise to launch kiosks in Ohio, a new and exciting market,” said Heidner. “We are bringing innovative content and best in class software to new players across the state.”

“Our partnership is going from strength to strength, and we look forward to more exciting moments for our growth across the US in the near future.”
