PlayUp scores Texas access deal with Panther City Lacrosse

News

PlayUp has struck a market access deal with Texas-based Panther City Lacrosse Club in a deal that would see the operator further its US presence.

As part of the deal, PlayUp will also become Panther City’s first sports gaming partner, founding partner, fantasy sports partner and esports partner.

In addition PlayUp’s logo will be prominently displayed on the Panther City jersey, VIP hospitality will be offered to PlayUp customers at Panther City’s Dickies Arena in Fort Worth Texas, and PlayUp branding will feature on Panther City’s website and home arena.

If sports betting is legalized in Texas, the agreement will evolve into a market access agreement with Panther City. This would be dependent on the club receiving a sports betting license, subject to conditions.

A bill referred to Texas’ House Committee last year aimed to bring sports betting to the state, but has not progressed since. The first attempt took place in 2019.

“Texas is an evolving state in terms of sports betting and should legalization occur, we want to ensure we are positioned to maximize that opportunity,” said PlayUp chairman Dennis Drazin.

“We are excited by this partnership with Panther City as it gives PlayUp a great opportunity to grow our brand and connect directly with fans throughout the state.”

Last month Fubo Gaming announced a market access deal in Texas through a partnership with Houston Dynamo FC.

“We are thrilled to welcome PlayUp as a partner of Panther City Lacrosse Club,” said Greg Bibb, Panther City CEO and president.

“We look forward to introducing our fans to the PlayUp brand and we are proud to wear the PlayUp name on our game jersey.”
