Sightline Payments names founder Sattar as co-chief executive

News

US-facing digital payments provider and mobile app developer Sightline Payments named co-founder Omer Sattar as co-chief executive alongside existing CEO Joe Pappano.

Sattar will oversee internal operations including product and compliance, with Pappano to continue to lead Sightline’s strategy, sales, client success and marketing organizations.

Sattar co-founded Sightline in 2011 and served as its executive vice president ever since, playing a key role in securing partnerships with clients such as Resorts World Las Vegas and Boyd Gaming.

Prior to founding Sightline, Sattar was senior vice president of cash access services at Global Cash Access, which is now Everi Holdings.

“The past year has been transformative for Sightline, and we have no intention of slowing down our progress to revolutionize payments in the gaming and hospitality industries,” Sattar said.

“My goal is to ensure that Sightline has the best, most innovative product suite in the industry. I am humbled by the opportunity to drive this business forward alongside Joe and provide gaming’s consumers the same payment options that they have in their daily lives.”

Pappano added: “Omer has been an innovator in the gaming industry for more than 15 years, and our shared vision and complementary skill sets will further accelerate Sightline’s growth.”

The appointment comes after Sightline last month raised $244m in a round of fundraising, taking the provider’s total valuation to over $1bn. This followed an earlier funding round in April that generated $100m.
