SIS announces two new board appointments to support US growth

News

Live betting service and content provider Sports Information Services (SIS) has appointed two new non-executive directors as it prepares to tackle the US market.

The appointments come days after SIS announced the launch of its new subsidiary, SIS Content Services, in the US to target market growth.

Laila Mintas, who is currently CEO of PlayUp USA, was announced as one of the appointments. Previously, Mintas was deputy president of Sportradar USA. She has over 15 years of experience in the betting and gaming industry.

“These are exciting times for everybody at SIS and I am keen to help them exploit both 30 years’ experience in the UK market and a great portfolio of products and services in the coming months,” Mintas said.

The second non-executive director position was awarded to Giovanna D’Esposito, who currently serves as the general manager for Uber in Southern Europe. Previously, D’Esposito held the position of managing director for both Sky Betting and Paddy Power Betfair in Italy.

“It is an honour to be asked to be a non-exec at SIS and I am eager to get started with Richard and his team as they make further strides in international markets.” said D’Esposito.

Simon Johnson, chair of SIS, remarked the expertise of the two appointments.

“I am delighted to welcome Laila and Giovanna to the Board of SIS,” said Johnson. “They bring a breadth of experience and expertise, which will enhance our diversification and growth strategy.”

“Along with the recent announcements of our investment in Racelab Global and the establishment of SIS Content Services Inc, the addition of two such highly skilled professionals to our board will help to drive the growth of SIS into the future.”
