Bally’s announces 15-year partnership with WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury

News

Bally’s Corporation has announced a new partnership with Arizona-based Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team Phoenix Mercury Basketball.

The deal will see Bally’s become the official sports betting partner for Phoenix Mercury for the next 15 years, beginning on July 1, 2021. Once the deal begins, Bally’s will have market access in Arizona, its 15th approved state.

The deal will also allow Bally’s to establish and host an online and mobile sportsbook in Arizona and promote its association with Phoenix Mercury, upon Phoenix Mercury’s receipt of a sports betting license from the Arizona Department of Gaming.

“Maintaining and implementing a strong diversity, equity and inclusion program is a cornerstone of Bally’s operational values, and we look forward to promoting those values as part of our sponsorship with the Phoenix Mercury and hope that other major corporations follow in our footsteps,” said Soo Kim, chairman of Bally’s board of directors.

“We are also excited about the prospect of providing sports fans in Arizona with access to our first-in-class online sports betting platform, and enhancing the way that they engage with their favorite sports pastimes.”

In addition, the partnership will see Bally’s become a member of the Phoenix Mercury Changemaker Partners, a collective that supports diversity and inclusion.

“This agreement represents so much more than a team sponsorship; it is a reflection of our shared values and commitment to investing in diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Jason Rowley, president and chief executive of Phoenix Mercury.

“We could not think of a better way to celebrate the Mercury’s 25th year in the WNBA, and what many consider to be the model franchise.”

Earlier today, Bally’s Interactive subsidiary announced the opening of its mobile sportsbook in Iowa.
