News

Entain and MGM Resorts’ online joint venture, BetMGM, has formed a new partnership with digital-first news network Cheddar News to launch Cheddar Bets, a weekly program offering an exploration of the intersection of sports betting and financial markets.

The partnership also sees BetMGM become the exclusive sports betting partner of the network.

Cheddar News is broadcast on the major over-the-top media providers such as Hulu, YouTube TV and Samsung TV+. The network provides in-depth reporting and updates on trending stories in technology and innovation, business, politics, media, entertainment and culture.

Cheddar Bets will be broadcast from a custom-built BetMGM studio in New York, and will explore the weekly sports calendar seen through the lens of sports betting and its impact on Wall Street, BetMGM said.

“Cheddar News is focused on what’s next in the worlds of tech, science, innovation, and reaching the modern and always-online news consumer,” said Liam Roecklein, SVP & general manager, Cheddar News.

“Now, together in partnership with BetMGM, Cheddar Bets will dive deep into the world of sports betting and its effect on sports, technology, financial markets, regulation and more, all while highlighting the community that has changed the game and continues to drive the sports betting industry forward.”

Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM, added: “As BetMGM continues to invest in innovative sports betting content, we’ve found a great partner in Cheddar News. Through Cheddar Bets we’ll provide informative and entertaining programming to engage new audiences.”

In June, BetMGM also became the official exclusive sports betting partner of ice hockey publication The Hockey News. The deal saw the publication use BetMGM odds for its podcasts and news articles as well as displaying ads from the operator.

BetMGM is also an official betting operator and partner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, recently became the first gaming partner of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, and in June signed a deal for ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky to become one of its brand ambassadors.
