BetMGM strikes partnership with MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates

News

Digital gaming operator BetMGM and baseball team the Pittsburgh Pirates have announced a partnership that will see BetMGM promotions across the Pirates’ multi-channel offerings.

As part of the partnership, BetMGM branding will be featured on areas of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ home ballpark PNC Park, including the behind home plate and the left field wall.

This deal is BetMGM’s latest sports partnership, with the operator having also partnered with National Hockey League player Wayne Gretzky and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in recent months. In June, BetMGM partnered with Major League Baseball team Washington Nationals in a move to expand its regulated market reach, as the MGM-Entain joint venture will launch a sportsbook at Nationals Park stadium.

“BetMGM has seen tremendous success in Pennsylvania since launching in December 2020,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer.

“Growing our presence across the state, in partnership with the Pirates, is a top priority and we look forward to providing Pittsburgh’s passionate sports fans unique promotions and benefits only available on BetMGM.”

BetMGM content will also be available on the Pittsburgh Pirates’ social media accounts, and will be the focus of several upcoming fan-based promotions.

“Our partnership with BetMGM is one that we are extremely proud to announce,” said David Burke, Pirates executive vice president of sales and business development.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with such a respected and innovative brand. It allows us the opportunity to provide a unique platform for our fans to engage with Pirates baseball like never before.”
