Online gambling operator Betway has entered into a multi-year partnership with National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Under the agreement, Betway branding will appear on broadcast-visible signage during Cavaliers home games at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, as well as on out-of-bounds space on the court surface.
The operator will also have a presence on the team’s official digital and social channels and serve as the presenting partner of the CavsHQ magazine style TV programme on Fox Sports Ohio.
In addition, Betway will be a supporting partner of the Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers.
“We are honoured to enter into a partnership deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers,” Betway chief executive Anthony Werkman said. “The Cavs have proved to be one of the most consistent and exciting teams in the NBA in recent years and we’re looking forward to seeing the Betway brand associated with them.”
Sports wagering is not yet legal in the state of Ohio, but the new partnership will introduce a free-to-play game, ‘Betway Big Pick’, which will give fans the chance to win cash prizes every week of the season.
Cleveland Cavaliers senior vice president for global partnerships, Shelly Cayette, said: “Sports gaming is an exciting and rapidly growing industry and we are excited to bring ‘Betway Big Pick’ to our fans.
“We’re proud to partner with one of the preeminent platforms in this space, Betway, and help bolster their presence and connectivity throughout the Cleveland market and across our global fanbase.”
