DraftKings and Foxwoods open permanent retail sportsbook in Connecticut

News

DraftKings has opened a permanent retail sportsbook at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, following the launch of a joint online sports betting offering last month.

The facility will replace a temporary sportsbook that opened at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation-operated casino in September

The new two-story sportsbook will allow players to place live bets at windows and kiosks, while the venue also features wall-to-wall televisions, multiple VIP rooms, two bars and a restaurant.

“Since launching retail sports betting at Foxwoods in September, the demand has been strong and continues to grow,” Foxwoods Resort Casino president and chief executive Jason Guyot said.

“The new DraftKings Sportsbook at Foxwoods redefines what it means to bet, gather and play and delivers on our commitment to offer the best sports betting experience in the Northeast.”

DraftKings and Foxwoods went live with online sports betting in Connecticut in October, with consumers now able to bet on property at the sportsbook or betting kiosks located across the casino, as well as via the co-branded mobile sports betting and igaming app.

The new launch also means DraftKings now operates a network of 12 permanent retail sportsbooks across the US.

DraftKings’ co-founder and chief executive Jason Robins added: “As legalized sports betting continues to gain steam both in Connecticut and across the country, DraftKings is proud to be a brand consumers know and trust, and we remain excited about the possibilities that lie ahead as we team up with Foxwoods, a powerhouse in entertainment and hospitality.”
