Genius Sports teams up with WynnBET

News

Genius Sports Group has signed a multi-state official data partnership with WynnBET, Wynn Resorts’ online US sportsbook brand.

Genius is now supplying WynnBET with its LiveData and LiveTrading services, powering in-game betting experiences across the three states in which the operator is licensed — New Jersey, Colorado and Michigan.

The new partnership will include Genius’ official data content for hundreds of sporting events, including the English Premier League, other major global football leagues and Euroleague Basketball. It also includes the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series, of which WynnBET is an authorised gaming operator.

Jack Davison, chief commercial officer at Genius, said: “Along with its broad market-access and nationally-recognisable brand name, Genius is an ideal partner to enhance WynnBET’s expanding online sportsbook and in-game betting offering.

“With growing numbers of states introducing online betting regulation, in-game handle is quickly rising – and WynnBET recognises the direct engagement and revenue benefits of official data in this landscape.”

Genius last month obtained licences in both Michigan and Virginia, which means its products are now allowed in 11 US states. Its partners include North American bodies such as NCAA and PGA Tour, as well as global basketball federation, FIBA.

Genius, valued at $1.5bn, is set to merge with dMY II, a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in order to go public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The deal was announced in October 2020 and has already been approved by both boards, but still requires dMY shareholder approval.

WynnBET is poised for rapid expansion in 2021 with market access opportunities in nine states and several pending license applications in process. Earlier this month it was conditionally approved for a sports gaming licence in Tennessee.
