Jackpocket goes live in New York

News

US lottery courier app Jackpocket is now live for players in New York State, with popular games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, New York Lotto and Cash4Life available to play.

The app gives New Yorkers an easy and secure way to order official state lottery tickets from their smartphones, the operator said.

In 2019, the New York Gaming Commission approved new regulations allowing digital lottery courier services to operate in the state, and Jackpocket is the first officially licensed service permitted under the framework. This permits third party providers to buy tickets on players’ behalf.

New York is the app’s tenth state launch following Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, and Washington DC.

Jackpocket said with over 60% of current Jackpocket users under 45 years old, the app can help to attract new consumers who would otherwise not be active lottery players, in turn increasing revenue for state lotteries.

The app also offers consumer protection features such as daily deposit and spend limits, self-exclusion and in-app access to responsible gambling resources.

“As a native New Yorker and growing up watching my father play the lottery, being able to use Jackpocket in New York is personal for me,” Jackpocket founder and chief executive Pete Sullivan said.

“Jackpocket’s mission is to make the lottery more accessible and convenient to play. I’m proud that now it’s easier than ever to play your favorite games from anywhere in New York.”
