FanDuel to launch mobile app in Pennsylvania

News

Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel is set to launch its mobile sports betting app in Pennsylvania as part of a three-day testing period starting today (22 July).

The operator is to begin a live test of the offering at 4PM Eastern Daylight Time, running until midnight. This will be followed by a further two progressively longer tests.

The FanDuel sportsbook app has been built for Apple’s iOS platform, meaning it can be listed in the tech giant’s App Store.

Provided testing is completed without a hitch, FanDuel will be able to launch round-the-clock mobile sports betting. It enters the market through a partnership with Boyd Gaming, and the mobile roll-out follows the launch of its retail sportsbook in March this year.

In June 2019, the first month in which online sports betting was legal in Pennsylvania, online and mobile app bets made up 40% of total bets in the state.

“In partnership with Boyd Gaming and Valley Forge Casino Resort, FanDuel is bringing its mobile sports betting experience that is simple, secure, and more convenient than ever to individuals located in Pennsylvania,” a FanDuel spokesperson said.

It becomes the fourth mobile betting product to launch in the state – and the first not to be powered by Kambi – following Rush Street’s PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers-branded apps, and Parx Casino.
