Fubo Gaming signs Cleveland Cavaliers as first NBA partner

News

Fubo Gaming, the betting subsidiary of streaming service FuboTV, has entered into a new partnership with National Basketball association (NBA) franchise the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Under the deal, which marks Fubo Gaming’s first agreement with an NBA team, the Fubo Gaming brand will be prominently featured inside the team’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse home arena.

Fubo Gaming will have a presence on the Cavaliers’ television and radio game programming, as well as benefit from activation on Cavs digital and social channels and other marketing assets

In addition, Fubo Gaming will be the presenting partner of ‘Cavs Pick ‘Em’, a free-to-play live predictive gaming platform focused around the Cavaliers.

“We couldn’t be more excited to align our Cavaliers brand with Fubo Gaming, a company that shares a mutual passion for innovation and as we like to say, who are ‘obsessed with finding a better way’ in such a new and rapidly-evolving sports gaming category,” Cavaliers’ senior vice president of global partnerships, Shelly Cayette, said.

“We are proud to team up with Fubo Gaming and help bolster their brand presence across the greater Cleveland region, all over Ohio, and with our fanbase for many years to come.”

Fubo Gaming president Scott Butera added: “We’re thrilled to have our first NBA team partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers, an innovative sports franchise known to have one of the most passionate fan bases in the league.

“This partnership is a natural extension of our overall goal to deliver sports fans dynamic and engaging experiences with the teams and sports they love.”

The deal comes ahead of the planned launch of the Fubo Sportsbook in the US, with Fubo Gaming hoping to live with the product before the end of the year, subject to requisite regulatory approval.

Fubo Gaming is also an authorized gaming operator of the NBA, while the business last month also linked up with National Football League franchise the New York Jets.

The Fubo Gaming subsidiary was formed after Fubo TC acquired sports betting start-up Vigtory. The deal was announced in January this year and completed in March.
